This module is intended to describe and illustrate "the scientific method." Understanding the scientific method, in this context, is intended to assist in the deconstruction or deciphering of research articles and support the design of research in any area.

Module 2 Objectives:

• Define logic and reasoning
• Categorize instances of reasoning as inductive or deductive correctly.
• Correctly identify concepts as abstract or concrete.
• Define the scientific method
• Correctly categorize provided concrete concepts within the NOIR framework.
• Illustrate the relationship between the elements of hypothesis testing for theory building as an instance of reasoning.
• Correctly categorize the primary elements of a basic or pure research article within the nomenclature of the scientific method.
